In the first 23 days of the month, the crypto market experienced a gradual decline with a loss of -13.3%. During this time, however, Solidum Cautus had over 70% of the total portfolio invested in stablecoins, which mitigated our losses to only -1.99%. On the 24th, the majority of the crypto market started to rapidly shift to positive numbers, with some cryptocurrencies hitting a 30% gain, on that single day.

By the end of the month, our Investment Committee increased the allocation of active investments to 50% of the total portfolio, thus allowing the portfolio to capture some of the market returns. After the rally, the market proceeded to consolidate and ended the month with a positive monthly performance of 4.31%.
Some holdings in the portfolio recorded a remarkable monthly performance, namely ChainLink (+55.68%), NEO (+39.74%), and Binance Coin (+26.10%). In general, altcoins in the Solidum Cautus portfolio performed better than Bitcoin. Altcoins had an average monthly performance of 15.68%, whereas Bitcoin gained 10.92% in October.
By the end of October, Solidum Cautus allocated 50.6% of the portfolio to stablecoins and 49.4% to active investments. As a result, the portfolio managed to mitigate losses during the first 23 days of the market decline, while also realizing some returns at the end of the month. Solidum Cautus ended the month outperforming the crypto market, with a monthly gain of 4.33%.
On 28 October, the Investment Committee decided to reduce the allocation of stablecoins from 70% to 50%, thus increasing the portfolio’s exposure to active investments. This decision allowed the opportunity to capture some of the market gains at the end of October.
